A well kept dirt road led from the Highway, across a small stream into Margot's farm. At the end of the road, an old, but very well kept house seemed to beckon and offered its wecome.
Eddy was very much impressed with its coziness, and the neatness of the fields around them.
As Margot parked in front of the front door, a sixty-something lady in a flowery dress and an apron, ran out smiling with her lips and eyes, showing genuine surprise and pleasure.
Miss Margot! You finally came to see us! I was gettng worried there for a while, wondering if everything was allright with you. Let me get you something cold to drink. Some beer?
"Nice to see you, Eva" I wanted to come sooner, but I have been very busy. Better late than never, no? Eva, this is my friend, Mr. Eddy - They both acknwledge the introduction with a friendy gesture - and yes, Eva, please. Get us some cold beer. We'll be at the bar. If yu could whip up some "boquitas,"
would you? Right away, Miss Margot. Be right back.
Margot guided Eddy to a medium size room, pleasantly decorated with a fishing theme. A fishing net or "atarraya" hung over a four stool bar, and two or three good size fish,
pride of some taxidermist, were hanging from th walls together with rds and reels d different shapes and sizes.
Being at almost sea level, and the time of year, made the temperature unpleasatly hot, but Margot, with the flip of a
switch, turned the Air Conditioning on, and in no time, the room was cool and comfortable.
Eva, called Margo thru a two-way speaker box: "Tell Daniel
to get us about a dozen or so coconuts - the kind I like - you know?" Yes, Mum. Right away. Daniel 's here now.
Thank you, Eva. While waiting, why don't you bring us the beer? "On my way, Miss Margot."
Eva took Eddy on a tour of the house, and he was even more impressed. Everything looked just rght where it was, and so
neat and clean.
Back at the bar, Eva had sme more beer for them, and a plater of what they called "CamarĂ³n de Rio" (River Shrimp) as big as a baby lobster, and delicious. Eddy had never tried them before. Heck! He had never even seen them! These are the "boquitas" I asked for, explained Margot.- Boquitas is a word used in most all Centra America, and means appetizers. I understand in Mexico are called "Botanas".
When the coconuts came, Margot, standing up said "How about it Eddy? Want to get your swimming trunks on? Would like to take you to the pool with the coconuts, and we'll make some "cocolocos" with the Nicaraguan rum you brought. I hear is very good. If you want to, take your suitcase to that first bedroom I showed you and change there; and by the time you get back, I'll be ready. OK?
And Margot called Eva to ask Daniel to help move the ice, coconuts, rum and everything from the bar to the pool. Then, she went to change to her esmerald green bikini.
When Eddy came back in his trunks and saw Margot, he almost had a stroke; she looked so beautiful and sexy. Inwardly
groaned in yearning, but pretended everything was normal, He said: "Lead the way, my Queen". I will humbly follow!
Oh, boy! said Margot laughing; maybe it was a mistake to invite you! And she led the way to an almost natural, very charming pool by the side of the creek, with water cascading into the pool, and going out quietly at the other end; keeping the water fresh and clean.
